2022 EPRI Heat Rate Conference, Charleston, U.S.A.

Summary

On February 7, 2022 Electric Power Research Institute, EPRI sponsored conference to review state-of-the-art technology employed to improve fossil fuel fired plant heat rate. A presentation was delivered introducing so called Plant Efficiency Toolbox, PET, an approach to quickly and effectively improve boiler and cooling tower performance. PET consists of a novel online boiler heat transfer software fit for daily use by plant engineers, combustion tuning technique, boiler wall deposit removal and corrosion prevention chemical and automated cooling tower operation evaluation procedure.
